Five!

June 16 was the five year anniversary of Girl Detective. I have a new look, a new bio, updated copyright, and the most recent version of WordPress. I’ve also opened comments again. Apparently, I thought I’d have all of these soon after last year’s anniversary. Better late than never.

I love your Pretty in Pink synopsis. I agree… I am glad she got the rich boy in the end, but hate that it had to be while wearing the horrendous the pink dress.

The site looks great. Nice work, Girl Detective!

Thanks for all the kind words! I am going to leave comments open for now, in the hope that the updated software has better spam filters. Before I closed them, I was getting hundreds per day, and sorting through them took about as much time as did writing a post.

Don’t thank me for the new look. As always, it’s my tech-spouse G. Grod who’s working behind the scenes. I did choose the look, though. Of course it was the first one out of the dozens I sifted through to make sure I got something I liked.

Happy Anniversary! You’ve never met me, but I’m a loyal Girl Detective reader from Everett, WA. I first came across your Mama Duck blog over two years ago when I was pregnant with my son and did a Google search for “pregnancy hip pain.” I’ve been hooked ever since. Thanks! You’ve even inspired me to start me own blog…but so far mine is mostly just a way to keep the grandparents informed of new things my kids are doing.

Jenn, thanks for de-lurking. My hip pain was even worse, and earlier, in my second pregnancy, and I saw a PT who said we could try ultrasounding the muscle, but that it was likely pregnancy related bursitis that would pass after the pregnancy–it did. And I’m flattered that you credit me with a start to your blogging. This has been a very positive constant in my life these last five years.
