For Those Who Say “Mad Men” is Exaggerated

    I’m not sure it is exaggerated. My mother was a smoker, and my father was a former smoker, and of every couple with whom they socialized at least one of the pair smoked. (They were born in the early 30’s, married in 1951.)

    I was thinking about this the other day: the lack of ashtrays in the modern home. Ashtrays used to be everywhere! And I remember making one in 7th grade art as a present for my mom.

    And collecting Gold Stamps from those packages of Old Golds…
