so what did you think of Persuasion?
I found it (the PBS version) to be pretty good, yet it felt so short! But what can you expect when they squeeze it into a measly 90 minutes?
The book, on the other hand, was great! I really enjoyed listening to the antiquated mode of speech (I listened to it on CD). Sometimes it feels the language has lost something when we become so direct we say “No” as opposed to “I’m disinclined to acquiesce to your request”.
