Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

#31 in my 2007 book challenge was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which I wrote about here, here, here, here, and here.

In short, I really enjoyed it. It digressed and dragged in the middle, but I found both the ending and the epilogue satisfying. I also enjoyed reading many of the interviews with J. K. Rowling, to learn the answers to questions I had, and ones that hadn’t occurred to me.

Did you figure out how Neville Longbottom ended up with the Sword of Gryffindor in the final scene? I was under the impression that it had been given to the goblin, never to be seen again.

It was given to the goblin, but Neville was able to pull it out because he was a true heir of Gryffindor, just like Harry in Chamber of Secrets. Bad luck for that bitter goblin.
